Aileen O’Carroll, policy manager of the Digital Repository of Ireland, was invited by National Academic Digital Repository of Ethiopia (NADRE) to speak about the process of building the Digital Repository of Ireland.

The NADRE intends to provide researchers, lecturers, students and stakeholders from outside of the academic world access to research works published by Ethiopian universities and research institutions. All public and private universities as well as research institutions will contribute to the NADRE and with content being open to all citizens. The audience Aileen addressed included Vice Presidents from all Ethiopian public universities, Deans of Sciences, Librarians and University Library ICT staff.

Aileen spoke about the steps DRI took which lead to the launch of DRI in 2015. The topics she addressed included DRI’s requirements gathering process, our stakeholder engagement, the support of our International Advisory Committee, policy development, the Core Trust Seal audit processes and the new DRI membership model. DRI is committed to building international collaborations and alliances.
