Description:
Letters, to Lieut. Thomas A. Larcom from John O'Donovan, written from Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, regarding the religious traditions, topography and folklore of the villages of Lavwy (Lavey), Kill and Shercock, with particular reference to the Castle of Tulla-mhaoin (Tullyvin) in the lordship of Breifny. O'Donovan's letter includes his thoughts on the importance of the Survey work and his concerns that local historians are unable to provide an accurate record of their locality. Also included are extracts from the 'Annals of the Four Masters' concerning Tullyvin Castle. Original document: 25 pp.
