It’s International Open Access Week and to mark this we would like to share the events that we are participating in this week.

Firstly, our Digital Archivist, Kevin Long, will be speaking on Wednesday 23 October at the ‘Open Data Impact Series’ event ‘Open Data – Supporting Arts, Culture and Heritage’, at the TCD Tangent at Trinity College Dublin from 9.30am –1.30pm. He will be on the ‘Promoting Irish Language and Heritage’ panel, discussing DRI and why open data is a valuable asset in his work. Tickets for this are free, but registration is required via Eventbrite, where more details about the event can also be found.

Secondly, our Programme Manager, Dr. Lisa Griffith will give a talk entitled ‘The Digital Repository of Ireland – what can it do for you?’ at the DIAS Lunchtime Briefing for International Open Access Week, also on Wednesday 23 October 2019. Though this particular event is internal to DIAS, we are always happy to share information about how DRI supports access to Ireland's humanities, social sciences, and cultural heritage data. You can get in touch with us at dri@ria.ie. More details about the DIAS Lunchtime Briefing can be found on the Open Access Week website.

Happy Open Access Week – we look forward to joining the discussions on Twitter!

DRI is funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS) via the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and the Irish Research Council (IRC).
