Ireland’s National Open Research Forum (NORF) has developed a National Action Plan for Open Research that outlines objectives and actions for the next chapter in Ireland’s transition towards open research.

The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) is pleased to share that Ireland’s National Open Research Forum (NORF) has developed a National Action Plan for Open Research that outlines objectives and actions for the next chapter in Ireland’s transition towards open research. It builds on a number of national policies and international recommendations, including the National Principles on Open Access (2012), the European Commission Recommendation on Access to and Preservation of Scientific Information (2018), the National Framework on the Transition to an Open Research Environment (2019), and the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science (2021).

A draft version of the National Action Plan is available for download via this pdf link:

A brief survey is being conducted to collect broad input on the National Action Plan vision, themes, goals and actions. Anonymised responses will be shared publicly as part of a summary of the consultation process.

Access and complete the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NORFNAP

The consultation period runs from 4 April to 6 May 2022.
