New Member: Cork City and County Archive

The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) is delighted to announce that Cork City and County Archive (CCCA) have joined as our latest member.

CCCA acquire and preserve local archives in all formats and make them accessible for research, having due regard to the legitimate rights and interests of creators, donors, stakeholders, data subjects and users past, present and future. They also provide advice and services to Cork’s local government in relation to the management of local records and archives. CCCA promotes awareness and understanding of local, national and international archival heritage as well as supporting culture, heritage, academic research and education.

Brian McGee, Senior Archivist at Cork City and County Archives said: 

“Cork City and County Archives Service is delighted to become a member of the Digital Repository of Ireland. We look forward to working together with DRI to share our rich collections with the widest possible audience, and to develop our capabilities the area of digital preservation.”

DRI Interim Director Lisa Griffith added:

“We are delighted to announce that Cork City and County Archives have joined DRI as members. They preserve hugely important collections relating to government agencies, local authorities, families and businesses in the county.  They have developed a significant digital collection and we look forward to helping them preserve their collections and make them accessible through DRI. We have a growing number of members in this area that are helping to make DRI a significant regional repository for Cork and Munster-focused collections.”
