The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) is delighted to share that the Royal Irish Academy and Grangegorman Development Agency have published a new collection in the Repository: Grangegorman Histories.
Grangegorman Histories is a public education programme led by the the Grangegorman Development Agency and the Royal Irish Academy. The programme explores historical material relating to the complex of buildings at Grangegorman, north Dublin city, which over the past 250 years have been the site of a workhouse, hospital, prison and a university campus for the Technological University (TU) of Dublin.

Grangegorman Histories has been working to uncover, cataogue and commemerate the history of the Grangegorman site and surrounding area. This newly-ingested collection makes available content commissioned and identified by the Royal Irish Academy as part of its work on the Grangegorman Histories project.
The collection includes specially commissioned essays, artworks, photographs among other items, and the publication ‘Grangegorman Histories: Resources for further study’ – a collation of primary and secondary resources relating to the histories of Grangegorman to assist anyone interested in learning more about this area.
These newly-deposited items – now preserved for long-term access – compliment existing items already published in the Repository including the Irish Historic Towns Atlas from The Royal Irish Academy and the Historical National Accounts Group for Ireland (HNAG) from Trinity College Dublin. You can explore the full Grangegorman Histories collection in the Repository.
