The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) is delighted to announce Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art Design + Technology (IADT) has joined DRI as our forty-third member. They are the ninth higher education institution to join our membership. Research is a cornerstone of IADT’s activities and outputs and DRI is already working with their researchers and research projects to help preserve their work. The Research Office at IADT supports this work and you can find out more about their work on the IADT research page.  IADT’s membership of DRI is one of the ways that they are working to progress and embed open research principles in all the research they undertake.

DRI’s Director Natalie Harrower said:

We have been working with IADT and their researchers for some time and we are excited about future collaborations that will emerge from this membership. As an organisation that is engaged in generating born-digital research and outputs, particularly in the areas of art, design, film and media, IADT will help enhance and broaden DRI’s community and collections.

Head of Research at IADT Daithí Mac Síthigh said:

We are delighted to join the Digital Repository of Ireland as an associate member. We know how much the DRI’s expertise is valued across our areas of interest. For instance, we already work with the DRI on Feminist Art Making Histories, a digital humanities project funded by the Irish Research Council and the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council, co-led by Dr Tina Kinsella, Head of Design and Visual Arts at IADT. We look forward to promoting the collections and resources and to supporting our staff and students in accessing training, resources and networking opportunities.

You can find out more about IADT, through their website. Visit our membership page to learn more about DRI membership opportunities. We provide regular updates on collection publications on our Twitter page and you can also follow us on Instagram to uncover more treasures in the Repository. You can sign up for our newsletter on our website for more updates and news of our events.

DRI is funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS) via the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and the Irish Research Council (IRC).
