We’re pleased to welcome Noelia Romero to the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) team based at the Royal Irish Academy (RIA)!
In her new role as deputy digital archivist, Noelia will work closely with the digital archivist, training and engagement manager, and the DRI technical team to assess incoming digital collections and provide advice and hands-on assistance to DRI members to facilitate the ingestion, preservation, and publication of their collections online.
Noelia has extensive professional experience in digital information systems and content management in digital archives. Her career has always been linked to music and audio-visual preservation. She holds a Master’s degree in Digital Libraries and Information Science and various certifications in digital preservation. Additionally, she has a bachelors degree in music specialising in clarinet performance.
Her professional journey began as music librarian in the National Radio of Spain, where she specialised in cataloging and selecting relevant materials for the archive and fulfilled user requests. Subsequently, she held the position of music supervisor at RTVE, Spain’s largest public Radio and Television corporation, working within a vast audio-visual archive.
Prior to this appointment, Noelia worked as digital deliveries manager at the Irish Film Institute (IFI), where she oversaw the acquisition of audio-visual materials and implemented best practices for quality control and digital object preservation.
We look forward to working with Noelia to support our members in preparing and uploading their collections for publication in the DRI Repository.
