We are delighted to announce that DRI’s Membership Manager Dr Lisa Griffith has joined the Digital Digital Preservation Coalition’s (DPC) Advocacy and Community Engagement Subcommittee. The DPC renews its leadership each year, allowing members to guide and review their programmes. DRI’s Operations and Communications Manager Dr Áine Madden will continue to sit on the DPC Workplace Development Subcommittee. DRI’s Director Dr Natalie Harrower sits on the DPC's Digital Preservation Awards expert judging panel.
The DPC is a not-for-profit company established in 2002 as a collaboration between a number of agencies operating in the UK and Ireland interested in the preservation of digital information. The DPC’s mission is to enable their members to deliver resilient long-term access to digital content and services, helping them to derive enduring value from digital assets and raising awareness of the strategic, cultural, and technological challenges they face. They recently celebrated their 20th anniversary.
The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) has been a member of the DPC since 2013 and has worked on several DPC committees and judging panels during this time. DRI staff are also certified on a number of DPC digital preservation skills training courses. We look forward to continuing our work with the DPC, contributing to their subcommittees, and learning from their outputs. You can find out more about the history of our work with DPC on our dedicated web page.
