Orla Egan, the digital archivist for the Cork LGBT Archive, has developed an Interactive LGBTI+ Walking History Tour in collaboration with Cork Pride. Plaques are being placed on many buildings throughout Cork with QR codes linking to exhibits on the Cork LGBT Archive site, with film, leaflets, and posters.

Cork has a long and rich LGBT+ history which is documented in the Cork LGBT Archive collections. The Cork LGBT Archive was the winner of the DRI Community Archive Scheme 2019 and has been preserved for long-term access in the DRI repository. Visit the DRI repository to access the Cork LGBT Archive collection, which can be downloaded and used under a CC-BY-NC-ND licence

The reimagined walking tour will be officially launched on the Cork Pride Facebook page at 6 pm on Friday 23rd October with a video featuring an introduction by DRI Director Natalie Harrower on the importance of digital access and preservation. Visit Eventbrite for more information about the Interactive LGBTI+ Walking History Tour.
