The CODATA Data Science Journal has opened a continuous Call for Papers focusing on research results and outcomes stemming from the Research Data Alliance activities.

The Data Science Journal special collection aims to gather and promote research results and outcomes stemming from the Research Data Alliance activities. In particular, it collects high quality papers describing the latest results of RDA working groups (WGs) or interest groups (IGs) focusing particularly on use cases that highlight the added value of the RDA solutions for different challenges related to research data sharing and management.
The submitted manuscripts might present, without being limited to, the following themes:

The results (RDA Recommendations, Supporting Outputs or Other Outputs) produced by an Interest or Working Group;

The description of an Adoption Case outlining how a specific recommendation or output has been implemented in a given use case;

Other types of work related to RDA activities.
The scope of the special collection
The scope of this special collection is to ultimately become a point of reference for experts from the international community that are committed to enabling data sharing, exchange, and interoperability by showcasing the various RDA results and how these have been implemented across disciplines, organisations and geographies.
Specific tools, code, best practices, standards, surveys, recommendations, reports, and other results will be brought to a larger audience via the peer-reviewed, open access Data Science Journal.
This continuous Call for Papers is open to all interested applicants regardless of their geographical provenance.
Submission process
The Data Science Journal allows for a continuous submission process, no specific deadlines will be foreseen for this special collection to be published online and continuoulsy updated. Articles are made available as soon as they have gone through the review process to ensure that there are no unnecessary delays in making content publicly available.
Publication fees
The “RDA Europe 4.0” project (funded by the European Commission, grant nr. 777388) will support the publication of a maximum of 30 articles. Publication fees (i.e. Article Processing Charges) will be covered by the project on a first come first served basis. Please note that funding is available until May 2020. No other fees will be charged to the Authors of this special collection for publication.

Paper Submission
Papers submitted to this special collection for possible publication must be original and must not be under consideration for publication in any other journal or conference. Previously published or accepted conference papers must contain at least 30% new material to be considered for the special collection.
All papers are to be submitted by following the instructions and guidelines availailabe at https://datascience.codata.org/about/submissions/. During the submission process authors should select the article type (Research Papers, Practice Papers, Reviews, Essays) and specify that the submission is to be considered for the special issue “Research Data Alliance Results” in the “Cover letter” to be compiled during the submission process.
