The Digital Repository of Ireland and Limerick City and County Council invite you to ‘A Future for Digital Records in Local Authority Services’ a day-long symposium on digital records and local authorities in Ireland.

The aim of the event is to establish the concrete steps needed at a regional and/or national level to coordinate efforts to secure the long term stewardship of local authorities’ digital records.

Speakers include local authority records managers, digital archivists, information specialists, and stakeholders in digital preservation who will talk about the approach they have taken to digital recordkeeping; preservation; access and meeting the digital demands of the current working environment.

The event will include an interactive session where stakeholders can discuss and collectively produce a series of considerations and actions for building a coordinated approach. No preparation is necessary!

Audience

  • Heads of Information Systems and Digital Strategies

  • Managers responsible for digital development

  • Archivists and Records Management Specialists

  • Information specialists, particularly staff with responsibility for electronic storage
