RDA's sixth plenary takes place in Paris this September. DRI is an active partner in RDA and hosted the third plenary in Dublin in March 2014.
The Research Data Alliance (RDA) builds the social and technical bridges that enable open sharing of data.
The RDA vision is researchers and innovators openly sharing data across technologies, disciplines, and countries to address the grand challenges of society. For more information on RDA visit https://rd-alliance.org/about.html
DRI is a longstanding collaborator with the RDA, engaging in Working and Interest Groups, and hosting the 3rd Plenary in Dublin in March 2014. We are also partners in a winning H2020 proposals to deliver coordinating and support actions around RDA's outputs.
RDA has plenaries every six months, and the focus of these plenaries is on advancing recommenda
tions and outputs – it's a chance for the groups ot meet, work, and deliver.
The theme of the 6th Plenary, taking place in Paris at Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (Cnam), is on Enterprise Engagement with a focus on Research Data for Climate Change. As a part of this focus, the hosts Cap Digital & RDA have created a special Challenge designed to connect Climate Change related Data Sets with startups, SMEs and larger organizations with practical application for these data.
This focus allows a particular area of RDA work to be highlighted, but as usual, the purpose of the plenary is to provide a meeting and working space for the 50+ Working and Interest Groups.
