MeetTheExperts_RebeccaGrant

Date

Friday, 1st May 2020

In this talk, Rebecca Grant (Research Data Manager at Springer Nature and doctoral candidate at University College Dublin) will discuss how research data policy and practiced have evolved in Ireland since 2014, including data from a survey of Irish organisations conducted in 2018.

Since the 2010s, research data management policy and practice has developed rapidly in Ireland. National strategy, stakeholder policy and relevant legislation support organisations and individuals in sharing research data openly. In parallel, stakeholders are developing incentives to encourage researchers to comply with applicable policy.

In this talk, Rebecca Grant (Research Data Manager at Springer Nature and doctoral candidate at University College Dublin) will discuss how research data policy and practiced have evolved in Ireland since 2014, including data from a survey of Irish organisations conducted in 2018. Drawing on her current role as research data manager at an academic publisher, she will also present a case study on the connections between policy and incentives which encourage (or require) researchers to comply.
