Date

Saturday, 15th August 2020

Instead of holding events, this year the Heritage Council will be showcasing research projects exploring the theme of ‘Learning from our Heritage’ as part of National Heritage Week. Visit the DRI website during National Heritage Week to listen to a series of short interviews with DRI members. We chat about their archival collections and favourite objects, the role digital archives play in helping us to learn from our heritage, and why digital preservation of cultural heritage matters.

As a trusted national digital repository for Ireland’s cultural heritage data, the Digital Repository of Ireland is privileged to play a role in preserving the country’s cultural memory. Visit the DRI website during National Heritage Week to listen to a series of short interviews with DRI members from Asylum Archive, Dublin City Library and Archive, and UCC. We chat about their archival collections and favourite objects, the role digital archives play in helping us to learn from our heritage, and why digital preservation of cultural heritage matters.
