DRI Director Dr Lisa Griffith will be speaking at ‘Everyday women: Irish women in archival sources’ on Thursday, 10 April.

This one-day conference at the Guinness Storehouse will explore the stories of Irish women across the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries, and where to find them. The event will bring together archivists, historians and those interested in discovering the history of Irish women both at home and abroad.

Papers will focus on the female experience in Irish society and the challenges archivists and historians face in tracing their stories. Speakers include Professor Ciara Breathnach (UCC), Professor Elaine Farrell (QUB), Dr Lisa Griffith (DRI), Leanne Harrington (Guinness Archives), Professor Leanne McCormick (Ulster University) and Emma Rothwell (RIA).

DRI is funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS) via the Higher Education Authority (HEA).
