DRI Coffee Morning Graphic

Date

23rd Feb 2022

February’s DRI Virtual Coffee Morning will be hosted by Dr Lorraine Grimes and will focus on ethical challenges to archiving sensitive online data.

Time: 10 am – 10:30 am

The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) hosts monthly Virtual Coffee Mornings to provide DRI members with a forum to contribute to a conversation about digital preservation topics, challenges, or projects in a relaxed environment.

February’s Coffee Morning will be hosted by Dr Lorraine Grimes, postdoctoral researcher on the DRI project ‘Digital Preservation of Reproductive Health Resources: Archiving the 8th’ (Archiving Reproductive Health). Lorraine will discuss the ‘digital archive’ and ethical challenges to archiving sensitive online data, different approaches to archiving sensitive and social media data, and ask what are the protocols when archiving sensitive research, and what should we do differently.

This Coffee Morning will be of particular interest to anyone working with material of a sensitive nature. Discussion and questions will be invited and encouraged during this informative meeting. You can find out more about Archiving Reproductive Health, a Wellcome Trust-funded project, on the project page

This is a DRI members only event.

Please contact DRI Membership Manager Dr Lisa Griffith at members@dri.ie to find out more about the event or to suggest topics for future events.
