Join DRI’s Training Manager and Digital Archivist for an online training session explaining the workflow for adding object records and files in bulk to the Repository using the DRI Batch Metadata Template.
Participants will learn how to:
- use DRI’s Batch Metadata Template to organise and describe collections materials;
- access DRI’s hosted NextCloud server to upload and manage files;
- perform a batch ingest using DRI’s Batch Ingest Wizard; and
- check for errors and troubleshoot common issues.
At the end of the class, participants should feel comfortable utilising DRI’s batch ingest process to quickly and easily add multiple files and descriptions to their collections.
Is this course right for you?
Requirements/Recommended preparation
This session is suitable for DRI members with large collections containing many individual object-level descriptions that would be tedious to catalogue one-by-one in the Repository. Although not strictly necessary, we do highly recommend that participants complete the introductory training module first.
Audience
This course is open to individuals from Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) member organisations.
