On Friday, 23 October 2015 the Digital Arts and Humanities (DAH) structured PhD programme, will host the annual DAH Institute, a one-day event held in the Royal Irish Academy, Dublin, on the theme of ‘Networks: connections to the future’. The programme for the event can be downloaded here.

We all exist and participate in various social, political and cultural networks. These networks, both their online and offline manifestations, support individual and collaborative work in our research as well as our day to day lives.

Over the past four years, the Digital Arts and Humanities structured PhD programme has facilitated innovative research in the exciting new fields of digital arts and humanities. Not only has it allowed students to explore digital ‘solutions’ to research ‘problems’, it has helped students from different disciplines to learn from each other’s expertise. Up until now, this has primarily been achieved through official DAH events, such as workshops, training events and the annual Institute. Now, as the first round of PhD students reach the end of their studies, and a new crop begin their work, we want to focus on the importance of networks in the future of digital humanities research in Ireland.

This year's Institute will feature presentations of research by graduating DAH students and Ignite talks by newer students, as well as presentations on the theme of 'Networks' by leading experts in the field. There will also be a networking workshop, allowing interaction between students and professionals.

Stay up-to-date with the DAH programme on Twitter, Facebook and through the website.
