The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) is delighted to announce that Wicklow County Archives and Genealogy Service has joined DRI as our forty-second member. They are the tenth local authority division to join our membership. Wicklow County Archives has a large collection of digitised records including county council, grand jury and poor law union records. These records are a rich resource for local and national history, genealogy and academic research.

Archivist for Wicklow County Archives Catherine Wright said:

The Wicklow County Archives service is delighted to become members of the Digital Repository of Ireland. Our collections offer a rich resource for researchers of wide and varying interests and we have a large collection of digitised records.  We welcome the opportunity to improve our knowledge and expertise in the area of digital preservation through the training opportunities offered by the DRI and wish to ensure we adhere to the highest standards as we continue our digitisation programme.  We are excited by the opportunity to share our collections as widely as possible through the audiences reached by the DRI.

DRI Director Natalie Harrower said:

We are delighted that Wicklow County Archives and Genealogy Service, an organisation that has such a strong commitment to digital preservation, has joined DRI. They join a growing number of local authority groups who are collaborating with DRI to meet the highest standard in digital preservation. We look forward to working with them to ensure the historical county records that they have digitised are available long term and that these records will be made accessible alongside similar records from other local authority members.
