Organisation for EconomicCo-operation and Development
The OECD Global Science Forum works in the area of international scientific cooperation, providing:
[A] venue for consultations among senior science policy officials of OECD member countries. It produces findings and action recommendations on high-priority science policy issues requiring international co-operation, and identifies opportunities for collaboration on major scientific undertakings.
The OECD GSF has involvement from the EU and 33 countries across the globe.
DRI Director Dr Natalie Harrower was appointed to the OECD Global Science Forum Expert Group on Sustainable Business Models for Data Repositories (2016-17). The expert group was a partnership between the OECD Global Science Forum (GSF) and the ICSU-Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA). The co-chairs were Simon Hodson (Codata), Ingrid Dillo (DANS) and Allan Dearry (National Institutes of Health, US). The work of this expert group addressed the demands of Open Science and Open Data mandates, answering the need for sustainable data repositories and data stewardship, leading to policy recommendations. The group builds on the work of the Research Data Alliance and World Data Service (RDA-WDS) Interest Group on Income Streams for Data Repositories.
