In June 2020, the EU launched a public consultation on Digital for Cultural Heritage. The consulation aimed to collect responses to the European Commission Recommendation of 27/10/2011, in order to possibly update this policy instrument to support cultural heritage institutions in the ongoing digital transformation.
In reponse, DRI submitted a position paper, which outlined that the digital transformation must cover the entire lifecycle of digital objects in order to ensure that they are open, accessible and reusable.
The position paper has been published in DRI's repository and is available to view here.
