A call for abstracts has been released for the International Interdisciplinary Conference on Digital Cultural Heritage, taking place in August in Berlin.

A call for abstracts has been released for the International Interdisciplinary Conference on Digital Cultural Heritage (DCH2017) taking place on August 30 – September 1, 2017 in Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin. The deadline for abstracts in 27th March.

This conference is open for contributions that cover methodological and technical challenges as well as strategic guidance.

Key messages relating to the impact of new technologies and processes on Cultural Heritage and Digital Humanities are especially welcome.

Aims of the conference:

  • raise awareness in Society, Science, and Technology fields about importance of the cultural dimensions and the growing potential of Digital Cultural Heritage
  • promote innovative content analysis from cross-organizational interoperability of Digital Humanities databases and XML methods, techniques, and approaches
  • indicate on the central role of spatial concepts enabling synergy for knowledge generation from massive granular digital cultural heritage content
  • create innovative cross-disciplines / cross sectors partnerships
  • facilitate intercultural and interdisciplinary dialogue
  • elaborate roles and interest of information society

Science Disciplines / Professions involved:

Heritage Informatics, Digital Humanities, Culture Big Data, Cultural Diversity, Knowledge Fusion and Emergence, Multimedia Object Relations and Analytics, Dynamics of the Cultural Sector, Cultural Sciences, History, Language, Literature, Libraries, Museums, Collections, Archives, Archaeology, Creative Industries, Cultural Heritage at Risk, DCH Coalitions, Alliances and Experts Networks.

DCH2017 is organized by CODATA-Germany (The German National Committee to the ICSU Committee on Data for Science and Technology), in cooperation with several partner organizations
