This half-day symposium will explore the current challenges faced by scholars whose research is mediated, as well as displaced, by digital technology. It will consider the importance of research data, both as an entity for preservation and as an asset for scholarly credit and transparency, and how dissertations, as a final product of research, require a substantial overhaul to correctly reflect contemporary research methods and outputs.
This event is being organised by the Digital Arts and Humanities Structured PhD Programme in collaboration with the Digital Repository of Ireland and the #digidiss initiative, which seeks to explore the idea and definition of digital dissertations.
