The second of our Knowledge Sharing series looks at Research Data Appraisal

This is the second of our new series of Knowledge Sharing Sessions, one-hour sessions are designed to focus on particular areas of interest in the world of digital preservation. On 8 December, DRI's Research Data Specialist Garret McMahon will give a talk called  "You don’t want to start from here – adapting electronic records appraisal to help manage legacy research data".

The session will examine how archival and records management techniques used to appraise electronic records could be adapted to help accession legacy research datasets for long-term preservation. It will be of particular interest to researchers and early-career academics in digital humanities, social science and other disciplines involving research data that requires preservation.

Attendance is free but places are limited. Register to attend here.

DRI is funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS) via the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and the Irish Research Council (IRC).
