Wednesday, September 21, 2022

September’s virtual coffee morning will take place on Wednesday 21 September at 10.00am for half an hour. The coffee morning will be hosted by Orla Egan, the FSFDH Feminist Digital Humanities Community Co-ordinator (and Founder and Director of Cork LGBT Archive). Orla is going to speak to us about Full Stack Feminism in Digital Humanities (FSFDH), a two-year research project jointly funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (UK) and the Irish Research Council. Orla will be joined by Ranju Upadhyay Programmer with FSFDH and who will speak about the Toolkit the project is developing.

FSFDH aims to address the inherent and inherited heteronormative, gendered and racist bricks and mortar of Digital Humanities.  It aims to do this by highlighting intersectional feminist methods and encouraging and facilitating wider access to digital humanities and cultural heritage. A key aim of FSFDH is to include multiple voices and perspectives and to address multiple and intersecting forms of oppression. FSFDH seeks engagement with communities, particularly those communities that have been marginalised, excluded and silenced.

This research/project is funded by UKRI-AHRC and the Irish Research Council under the ‘UK-Ireland Collaboration in the Digital Humanities Research Grants Call’  (grant numbers AH/W001667/1 and IRC/W001667/1)

The DRI Virtual Coffee Mornings are a place for DRI’s staff and members to come together and discuss digital preservation topics, challenges, or projects in a relaxed environment. If you’d like to host a coffee morning please email

Please register in advance for this meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
