The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is an organisation that advocates, empowers, and champions the rights of people living with dementia and their communities to quality support and services. The societies vision is an Ireland where people on the journey of dementia are valued.
In 2012, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland was given €1,513,000 for a project titled Voice and Advocacy in Dementia. With this funding the society was to promote recognition of dementia as a major national challenge by supporting mobilisation of public support and engagement, and to influence service provision towards earlier intervention.
