Nadette Foley was the director of the Irish Refugee Council from 1992 until 1998 and has worked with organisations such as the Multi-Cultural Resource Centre in Northern Ireland and Refugee Integration and Cultural Diversity Programme at Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation.

This seventy-one-minute long oral history interview was conducted by the Digital Repository of Ireland as part of The Atlantic Philanthropies archive project (2017-2020) titled Amplifying change: A history of the Atlantic Philanthropies on the island of Ireland in 2019., Nadette Foley talks about her stay in Pakistan, where she worked with refugees from Afghanistan before working with the Irish Refugee Council. Nadette also talks about her leading role in advocacy on the Irish Refugee Act in 1996 and her work with The Atlantic Philanthropies funded Refugee Information Service., and This recording contains the personal views of the participants, they do not reflect the views of the DRI.
