The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) is seeking expressions of interest for an Early Career Researcher (ECR)* or Early Career Professional (ECP)** from a full member instituion to sit on the DRI Board. DRI works with researchers and professionals at all levels of their careers and seeks to include those engaging with open research and digital preservation at all levels of our organisation. The ECR or ECP who is nominated to the DRI Board will have an opportunity to:
- Develop their skills and learn about governance
- Help shape the priorities and direction of DRI
- Make a contribution to the digital preservation and open research community in Ireland
Any ECR or ECP member from a full-member institution is eligible to nominate themselves for consideration for appointment. ECRs may be working in the fields of humanities and social science while ECPs might be working in the areas of archives, libraries, culture or heritage. There is no limit on the number of nominations per institution, but the sitting board is limited to one person per member institution. The DRI board has two sittings each year, in the spring and autumn.
Board members serve 3-year terms, and cannot serve more than 2 consecutive terms. There shall be no more than one board member per DRI member organisation. Current board members can be found on the DRI Board webpage.
