At the recent OR2016 conference, DRI staff and collaborators presented on the subject of orphan works legislation and developments in digital preservation.

At the recent Open Repositories conference (OR2016), DRI staff and collaborators presented on the subject of orphan works legislation and DRI. The presentation, entitled 'Implementing Orphan Works Legislation at the Digital Repository of Ireland', was given by Rebecca Grant, DRI Digital Archivist, Kathryn Cassidy, DRI Software Engineer and Marta Bustillo, Assistant Librarian at the Digital Resources and Imaging Services (DRIS) department at Trinity College Dublin Library. It gives an overview of the EU Orphan Works Directive and its implementation in Ireland, and discusses how the Digital Repository of Ireland adapted its workflows and UI to allow the publication of registered Orphan Works.

DRI Software Engineer Kathryn Cassidy also presented at OR2016, on the subjects 'Using Moab Versioning for Preservation Storage' and 'What Metadata do we need for Preservation?'

Slides from the presentation are now available to download from the DRI Slideshare account.
