DRI are delighted to announce that Kevin Long has been appointed as the DRI Digital Archivist.

Since late 2015, Kevin has been working as Digital Data Curator on DRI’s Inspiring Ireland 1916 project, where he prepared exciting digital cultural heritage objects for preservation and exhibition, and helped to run Public Memorabilia Collection Days, which gathered and digitised 1916-related material from members of the public. He also worked on the ground-breaking Department of Foreign-Affairs sponsored project  ‘Frongoch & 1916: Recreating a Lost Landscape’, undertaken in collaboration with the National Museum of Ireland, National Library of Ireland, National Library Wales and the National Museum of Wales.  In the past, Kevin worked for BBC Archives in the area of Media Asset Management. We’re delighted to have Kevin on board as Digital Archivist for DRI.

DRI is funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS) via the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and the Irish Research Council (IRC).
