The deadline for early bird registration for the 8th RDA Plenary is 8th August 2016.

The Research Data Alliance holds its plenary meeting every six months in a different region around the world. These three-day working meetings bring together a unique community of data scientists, librarians, computer and domain researchers, policy makers and strategists to meet and discuss concrete actions and plans. The 8th Plenary will take place in Denver, Colorado and will comprise part of International Data Week (11-17 September) which includes the plenary, SciDataCon, the International Data Forum and the CODATA General Assembly.

DRI are closely involved in RDA via RDA Europe, the European plug-in to the Research Data Alliance. RDA 3 is the third phase of RDA Europe, and DRI are partners in this phase via an Horizon 2020 Coordinating and Support Activity (CSA) grant. Our Director Dr. Natalie Harrower is on the Board of Directors and our Digital Archivist Rebecca Grant is the European co-chair of the Archives and Records Professionals for Research Data Interest Group.

More information about RDA and the plenary is available on our Event page. A preliminary programme for the plenary can be viewed here. Early bird registration is open until 8 August via the International Data Week website.

DRI is funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS) via the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and the Irish Research Council (IRC).
