DRI Digital Archivist Rebecca Grant features in the final report of the CAPTCHA (Creative Approaches to Living Culturals Archives) project, a partnership of three community media organisations and the Center for Media, Data and Society (CDMS), which was supported by a grant from the Culture Programme of the European Union with the aim of empowering community media and programme makers to increase the online accessibility of their programmes. The three media organisations were Radio Corax, Germany, the Near Media Co-op, Ireland and Radio FRO, Austria. The CMDS produced a research report, authored by Joost van Beek with contributions from Kate Coyer, which explores some of the challenges, obstacles, opportunities and prospects for online community media archiving. Rebecca spoke to the authors about DRI's partnerships and our work more generally, including the process by which the Inspiring Ireland exhibitions extract material from the main repository to enhance the browsing experience. The report also features interviews with staff from Near Media, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and CRAOL Ireland, as well as various European radio stations. It can be downloaded via the CMDS website here.
